Customer Review: Another great uniform reference book by Historie & Collections at a reasonable price. Large format, quality glossy paper with sharp clear photos, all English text. Has original B&W period photos along with hundreds of modern color photos of officer/enlisted dress/combat uniforms, headgear,... more info
Customer Review: This is a good book that has a lot of pictures. It even shows the proper way the Marines marked their gear. There were a few things left out like what went into the 782 pack. Overall very good and can help anyone out there wanting to reenact or collect.
Customer Review: Excellent book. Very nice mix of explanatory text (including some helpful history) and very clear, sharp photos. Wonderful purchase for any collectors of militaria!
Customer Review: As a former Navy Corpsman, I found this book to be OUTSTANDING! Fully half of the book is devoted to the uniforms and equipment of Navy Medical personnel, and I agree with the earlier reviewer who felt that this should be reflected in the title. Other than that small beef, this is a great book, a... more info
Customer Review: Very visual account of that battle in the Pacific. Another first-person account is WALKING THROUGH FIRE: AN IWO JIMA SURVIVOR'S REMEMBRANCE, about a Navy Radioman who was on that island and survived to tell about it. Walking Through Fire, An Iwo Jima Survivor's Remembrance
Customer Review: Born in 1940, I lived a serene childhood during the War. Our hardships were rationing and blackouts. My like-age cousin in Southwestern Germany dodged bombs and tanks, lost her father somewhere on the Eastern Front and our great uncle when their town was overrun. Like her, I knew we were at war. Our... more info
Customer Review: If you have seen Vol. 1, then this is quite similar, just with different items. Vol. 1 has more equipment and uniform items, vol 2 has some mor esoteric things, and more small personal items. All photographed in wonderful color. While this book is a must for collectors of WW2 US militaria, it... more info
Customer Review: While this book does a fair job of covering the equipment and uniforms used on D-Day, the author should have had it more thoroughly proofread. It's Erwin not Edwin Rommel (pg.12) Also, Hauptman was not a Major, but a Captain in the German army. (pg.56) Also, I would have liked to have seen more real... more info
Customer Review: German Soldiers of World War Two by Jean de Lagarde is an impressive collection of color photographs illustrating in great detail what the German military man looked like in the 1940s. Pictured are uniforms of all kinds: dress, working, and combat for both winter and summer. Weapons and equipment... more info
Customer Review: December 29th, 1980, I arrived at the same Marine Corps boot camp which welcomed EB Sledge nearly 40 years before. With the Old Breed (WTOB) makes it perfectly clear why the stress and hardship of the Marine Corps boot camp experience is necessary. Thankfully, my generation was spared the subsequent... more info
